Republic Services, Inc. and Allied Waste Industries, Inc. announced Friday, December 5, 2008, that they completed their historic merger to create one of the nation’s leading waste and environmental services providers. The combined company, Republic Services, Inc. is based in Phoenix and trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol RSG. As of the close of the market on December 5, 2008, Allied Waste stock was delisted and will no longer trade on NYSE.
